Red River Region – Porsche Club of America Holiday Celebration Event
By all accounts the annual Holiday Celebration held at The Manitoba Club was a resounding success. This year we had 79 participants representing club members, guests and Porsche Centre Winnipeg staff. We were pleased to have our PCA Zone 10 Midwest representative, Julie Bailey and her spouse Chester attend this year’s celebration; along with other club members who travelled from Bemidji and Sioux Lookout.
This year’s event again captured the holiday spirit by providing many opportunities to engage with some new and old friends in a festive surrounding during the cocktail hour, dinner and of course all through the casino [if you could distract the gamblers]. The casino provided a chance to learn a new game or master an old favourite. As in the past year, the after dinner entertainment kept club members well into the evening!
Some notables taken away by Celebration participants:
- The meal and the service by the Club staff were stellar.
- The grand draw winner was Eric Wong, a guest and new Boxster owner, as well as a potential new club member.
- Each table had a winner of a gift pack from PCW.
- The Casino gift basket winner was Ray Larrivee.
- The club raised $1,487 for this year’s charity, Art City.
- All the Holiday celebrants were treated to a wonderful evening to begin the Christmas season!
There are many individuals to thank for planning and supporting the event. The Porsche Centre Winnipeg donated the table gift packs, as well as provided the main draw prize known as the “Rick Dobel’s Porsche Owners Driving School”, a must do event where professional drivers assist Porsche owners to fully appreciate what you and your Porsche are capable of achieving.
The success of the PCA -RRR events does not come about by happen stance and there are many members who work to make it happen. We would like to thank Ray Larrivee [The Press Room] for printing the invitations and draw tickets. He and Juliette support many events throughout the year by printing our material. A special thanks to the 2016 RRR-PCA Board members, and to David and Karen Breed, for their extra effort to arrange all the ‘goody’ baskets that were used in the draws.
On behalf of the 2016 Board, we wish you all a Happy and Safe Holiday Season and we are looking forward to another season of great driving experiences in 2017!
