PORSCHE PANAMERA Turbo S HYBRID HEADING TO NASCAR
NASCAR fans may remember the name “Strietzel” rather well, but for those that don’t, Hans-Joachim Stuck was together with Walter Röhrl the answer to American NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race car driver. Both currently working for Porsche Motorsports and in cooperation with Hendrick Motorsports they are preparing a Panamera Hybrid for Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.
The Panamera would be further prepared to tackle the circuits with the use of the Sports Intelligence Performance Hybrid running gear borrowed from the 918 Race Lab and a V8/KERS system developed with Williams Grand Prix Engineering.
Röhrl commented on this decision by saying that “having a Porsche on the grid will get people excited about something, ANYthing, and will hopefully erase some of the reputation that NASCAR is being boring. ’Maybe.’”
If you haven’t guessed by now, this is 100% an April Fool’s joke. Did they get ya?
