Porsche Racing Green, tan interior

Our hunt began after we sold our 2004 speed yellow C 2 in the fall of 2017. Jan and I instantly had sellers remorse. Therefore our goal was to do an upgrade. One spec that kept coming up was the fact that we both wanted a tan interior. We were likely going to match this up with a dark blue or black car. The next criteria was either an S or S4 version. I’ve never really seen too many green 911’s (this one is Porsche Racing Green) around, so this colour never crossed our minds. Actually seems a bit rare?   Another criteria was 50 or 60,000 K or less on the clock. I  use to be a bit of a clutch snob but luckily a couple years ago I tried a PDK in Gimli.  I realized this truly was an automatic standard. I was very impressed with the downshift from 150 KMP to 20…So I welcomed the PDK and the fact that Jan will have an easier time of driving this than a standard.

We purchased this at the Saskatoon Porsche Center. In order to have the car Porsche Certified  for the two year warranty, it came equipped with all new filters, new tires, new brakes rotors etc. etc., $8,000 worth of more less unnecessary repairs, but that’s what Porsche head office needs to honour this warranty. As a bonus, this car qualifies to renew the warranty till 2024. Very interesting concept for a luxury car. Also a good resale point as it is transferable. We look forward to future touring with our RRPCA family!

Porsche of the Month – February

After spending most of my adult life working on the farm, I decided to treat myself to a convertible sports car.  I looked at domestics/imports and there was only one that made any sense for me to purchase and that was the Porsche Boxster.  My wife (Liana)  and I looked at one in the winter of 2015 at Porsche Winnipeg.  The following summer Liana and I took a Boxster out for a test drive and we fell in love with the car.  It was in August of 2015 that I read an article about how Porsche was planning on replacing the flat six with a four banger. I was determined not to have a four-cylinder sports car.  I called Porsche Winnipeg and the salesperson thought it might be possible to order a 2016 from the factory.  After building my dream Porsche online, submitting a down payment, I then hoped for approval from Porsche Headquarters. 2 months Later I was notified that Porsche was not building anymore flat six Boxster’s other than the Spyder.  I had been surfing the Canadian Porsche Dealers websites and checking what inventory was left.  It was then, I called Porsche Winnipeg again and asked if they could get me the beautifully equiped Boxster S from Oakville Ontario.  After a few hours I was informed the Boxster in Oakville was mine.  Plus, it was a Boxster S!!  It’s a great car.  Thanks Porsche Winnipeg!  We live close to North Dakota and we enjoy taking the Boxster South for day trips.  We also go for cruises around southern Manitoba.  That’s my Porsche story!!
