This is a journal about Brad’s 928 rebuilt
Please stay tune for updates
It was waiting on head machining and new exhaust! It should add 40hp!
Engine is out. It started with head gaskets but since its out everything we can is being rebuilt by Eurocars.[
As you may know I lost a head gasket last fall just before the Bemidji trip last September. Since so much of the top end of the motor has to be removed to access the heads I plan to fix or freshen what ever I can along the way. I just got the air distributor ( v8 spider) back from powder coating (FX Powder). I think it looks amazing! Hopefully all the rest of the parts will come for Christmas and then I’ll be ready to put it back together(I mean take it all to a shop!)
May 2017- Finished Part 1
I went for 100km drive yesterday – its running great, and is back to being the comfortable Grand Touring car it was meant to be!
See you at the next events!
A couple of last details to button up and I will be on the road later this week!
It’s been a long wait but it will be worth it! I should be at the next coffee and cars.
Here are a few more pictures of the rear seats installed and the embroidery for the front seat headrests. Its coming together!
The rear seats look amazing but there not quite as comfortable as a Panamera! I can actually squeeze in there… with no front seats and the hatch open! 2+2 sports car..only if the two are kids.
Its taken longer than I expected but there is light at the end of the tunnel and it looks great!
Otto’s Upholstery is doing a great job restoring the leather interior of my 1981 928S.
The black leather of the dash, console and quarter panels are done, tan leather of the rear seats are finished and carpet is in. Front seats and door panels should be done over the next few week.
Can’t wait for spring!
She started up first turn but alternator/charging system not well.
New wiring harness going in also so I can attend a few more drives this year…reliably.
New interior for April too! Hopefully all back together for May!
