Red River Rockies Tour
June 13 to 16, 2019
As most of our members know, 2019 represents the Red River Region of PCA’s 20th anniversary and as such we have several events planned for the year to celebrate this milestone.
A premier event is the Red River Rockies Tour planned for June 13 to 16 ,2019. This event will be held at the new Copper Point Resort in Invermere BC, copperpointresort.com. The resort is located 2 hours past Banff on “the warm side of the rockies”
The event will be limited to the first 40 cars registered with a registration fee of $150.00 Cdn per car and will include a welcome reception and meet and greet on Wed June 12 and A farewell pizza party on Sat June 15.
We will have 3 days of guided tours beginning on Thursday going south to the heritage village of Fort Steele with your entry to the village included in your registration fee. We will have lunch here then time to explore the many sights in the village then choose 2 different ways back to Copper Point.
Day 2 will head north to Golden BC then across the great divide to lunch in the Town of Lake Louise at the Post Hotel before venturing to The Lake Louise Chateau area or Lake Moraine also nearby.
Day 3 we will head northeast into Alberta and drive part of the scenic Bow Valley parkway before arriving in Banff for lunch at the Elk and Oarsman in the heart of the downtown area.
Following lunch you will have time to explore Banff and visit your choice of the many close by attractions before heading back to our Resort for the farewell party.
The Copper Point Resort is a new resort in Invermere BC that has 2 golf courses on the property, a wellness spa, restaurants and many other amenities. The cost for us is $123.00 ( plus tax ) per night for your room with balcony or $200.00 per night for one bedroom suite.
The special rate applies from June 11 to 17, 2019.
The registration for the event will open in November for Red River Region members only as this will likely fill fast due to the limit of 40 cars. and will be opened to all PCA members in January.
We selected these dates as we will be just ahead of the main tourist season so prices are better and there is a lot less traffic making travelling in groups much easier and safer.
For further information or to volunteer to be group leader or sweeper (14 or 15 cars per group ) please contact event organizer : Dennis Duncan at firstname.lastname@example.org or the RRR club website.
